Almost all electronic music relies on the use of a loudspeaker in its performance or production. This project presents alternative methods for sound creation through high voltage sparks, plasma speakers, transduction and electromechanical devices to excite objects and summon sound.

Beyond the Loudspeaker features the following DIY instruments: Spark Jugs, Plasma Induced Fluorescent Tubes, Franklin Bells, Dry Ice, a Jacobs Ladder, Melodicas, Xenon Camera Flash, Spark Field, Motor Garden, Motor Mice, Bottle Top Bucket, Self Inflating Balloon, Car Horns, Relays, Transducers, Flickering Light Bulbs and Telephone Bells.
